This is my web page about Water Pollution in the Delaware River.

This Page was created to help inform people about the problems we create for this planet.

What's Going On?

The Delaware River flows from New York (the state) and flows into the Delaware Bay.  It is constantly occupied by pleasure boaters, fisherman, and large ocean tankers.  They all pollute the river.  Not many people know what the extent of this problem is.  This page is designed to help more people understand what is going on.

The river is in danger for many reasons.  Here are a few of the largest ones:

Recreational Boaters dump litter and other household objects into the river and don't remove them when they move or leave.
Fisherman toss extra monofiliment line, hooks, and other fishing tackle, into the river, putting the wildlife at risk of being injured.
Recreational boaters pour their old engine oil into the river, harming the delicate ecosystem.
Local landfills, over ten are located near the river, lose some of their contents into the river, or the sea birds that live near by eat the trash.

Other then these problems, there are many more smaller things which go apparently unnoticed.  Not many people realize this.  This is why I did this site.  If we all realize what is wrong, We can work harder to fix it.
